The model – what does Norla Consulting do?

Norla Consulting acts as an intermediary company in the contractual chain, in between recruitment agencies or direct to clients at the top of the chain and payroll umbrella companies at the bottom. It provides a route to market for the skilled consultancy staff, providing high volume back office timesheet and invoicing services.

Compliance

Norla Consulting only supplies UK based or UK resident contractors who are paid in accordance with current UK law by their employers. For example it will not supply staff operating through composite companies or from companies operating unregistered or unapproved tax avoidance schemes. Norla Consulting is also never connected or involved in any way with its client companies.

On Your Terms and Conditions

Norla Consulting works with hundreds of recruitment agencies processing thousands of contracts each year. The company normally agrees to operate under your standard supplier contracts or terms and conditions, but as Norla Consulting is merely a back office provider, it cannot take responsibility for quality of work, attendance or behaviour for example, and as such will sometimes request certain clauses are amended.

The Systems

Norla Consulting’s specialised bespoke timesheet and billing systems are provided by XTBase and based upon mainstream Microsoft technology and have been proven and refined over seven years. XTBase has also invested heavily over recent years in state of the art CRM and telephone systems amongst others.

The Infrastructure

Dedicated server rooms on site including a high speed link to an independent remote data centre containing multiple redundant servers ensure that Norla Consulting systems are always online.

The Volumes

Norla Consulting is able to provide a consistent quality of service at high volumes (raising up to £10M invoices per month) thanks to Norla Consulting’s policy of investment in people, processes and technology.
Norla Consulting will only work with consultancies who employ consultants under UK compliant contracts and pay their consultants in accordance with current UK law.
Norla Consulting will not supply consultancies associated with managed service companies.
